This item is very special. It is a vintage Kau Chim set. Kau Chim is also known as Fortune Sticks. A tube filled with numbered sticks is shaken until 1 stick falls out. Divine intervention produces a single number, which correlates to a poem and associated fortune in an Oracle, a collection of poetry and verse steeped in Eastern cultural references. The seeker often employs the help of a priest or trusted spiritualist in interpreting their fortune from this. This paper tube with lid is covered with vintage Chinese fabric. The sticks included are numbered..waiting to share their secrets after just a shake. The tube measures 7 inches in height and each stick is just short of 6 inches.
